Back into the swing

We are officially back in reality mode, my break is over from school and classes started this week. My schedule is not so bad, I am taking Audiology and Medieval History on T, TH mornings and Articulatory Phonetics on Saturday mornings, so far, I think I am going to enjoy them all, audiology looks like a very hands on class and we will be doing a lot of lab work in the hearing clinic, which should be fun. For my phonetics class, I really like the professor and the class includes a lot of activities transcribing English into the international phonetic alphabet, so as soon as I memorize all those tricky little symbols, and their sounds, it shouldn't be too bad.

Marcus had a successful interview at a middle school this week, of course we won't know for a while if he got in, but this was a big victory for him.

The kids are both busy with rehearsals for Snow White, which will be in production at the end of Feb, beginning of March. They both really enjoy it and even memorized their lines by this weekend's deadline. Marcus is also playing Malvolio in his school's production of The Twelfth Night, which will mean lots more lines to memorize!

We are all keeping busy, looking forward to spring, we'll see what the Groundhog says!

Let it Snow

We are getting some snow today, I took these pictures

as I was walking home from dropping Meredith off at school.

The snow is always so pretty the first day, then it turns into

yucky, mucky slush!

I'm sure the kids are going to want to go sledding after school, only

one problem, we broke our sled last winter and haven't replaced it yet, oops!

I am home for the day while the kids are in school and plan to stay home

and make meatballs and do some baking.

Moving on...

Well, I just took the decorations off the tree, so I guess its the official end of the holiday season, on to 2009. Tom is in NJ for work today so as soon as he gets back I'm going to (beg him), I mean ask him to please, please take the tree to the curb so it can get picked up and mulched.
Marcus and Meredith are both preparing for their English Language Arts standardized test at school next week, I think they'll both do fine and neither seems too concerned about it.
Meredith made in into the next production of our local children's theater, they will be doing "Snow White", she will play bashful, which should be adorable!
Marcus is auditioning for Shakespeare's "The Twelveth Night" at school and he is also getting ready to interview for middle schools, so any good thoughts/prayers sent his way will be appreciated.
I am on break from school until the end of the month, so I'm going to try to pick up some more hours at work and catch up with things around the house. I'm sure the month will go fast, so I'm just going to try to enjoy it.
I'll try to figure out how to post some pictures soon from my iphone from our skating fun over the break, until then better get those decorations put away!
